Hand off coding work. Get back a pull request.

Give Unblocked a feature, bug fix, refactor, or test task.Other remote coding agents work primarily from a repository. Unblocked Code draws on your conversations, issues, docs, and production systems to reduce rework and accelerate pull requests reviews.

Delegate coding work like it’s a teammate

Hand off a task where the conversation is already happening, let Unblocked Code do the work on its own machine, and review the pull request the way you always have.

  1. Hand off the task

Start where the work is already being discussed. Tag @unblocked in a Slack thread, on a GitHub pull request, or hand the task over in the Unblocked app. It reads the surrounding context — the thread, the ticket, the code — before it writes a line.

    Hand it off from

  2. Unblocked Code does the work

It plans the change, writes the code, runs the build and tests, then verifies the result before handing anything back.

    • Runs on a fresh, isolated machine, so your laptop stays free for your own work.
    • Follow it step by step, redirect it, or cancel at any time.
  3. Review the pull request

Come back to a draft pull request with the implementation and the verification results already attached.

    • Unblocked Code Review scores the risk, so routine changes do not wait behind high-risk work.
    • Your reviewers, CI, and branch protection rules stay exactly as they are.

The context gap

Your codebase is not the whole story

Coding agents are good at reading code. But the context required to make the right change often lives somewhere else.

Generic agent

Other coding agents start with your repository.

The rest has to be found along the way

Code gives the agent a starting point. But the decisions, requirements, and production behavior behind it live in other systems.

Even when those systems are connected, the agent has to find and reconcile the relevant context while it works. When it misses something, the result is wrong turns and rework.

Unblocked Code

Unblocked Code starts with your organization's context.

Relevant evidence, ranked and reconciled.

The Unblocked Context Engine connects and reasons over the context scattered across your code, conversations, issues, documentation, product, and production systems.

Before Unblocked Code writes a line, the Context Engine assembles the evidence that matters to the task from across your organization.

What better context changes

Less searching. Less rework.Faster pull requests.

Generic agents spend model tokens searching, rereading, and reconciling context while they work. Unblocked Code uses its Context Engine and continuously applies the resulting understanding throughout execution.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from hosted agents from model providers and IDEs?

Hosted coding agents run the same loop: clone the repo, read the code, write a change. What they can't see is everything around the code — the review discussion where a pattern was rejected, the incident that explains a guard clause, the design doc behind a service boundary. Unblocked Code is built on the Unblocked Context Engine, which indexes your code alongside your pull requests, issues, docs, and team discussions and reasons across them. That context shapes the plan before a line is written. Three other differences customers ask about: there is no separate app or console — it lives in Slack, the Unblocked app, and GitHub pull request comments; tasks iterate until the build passes, the tests pass, and an independent verifier agent confirms the work, rather than stopping when the model says it is finished; and context is scoped per requesting user by Data Shield, so the agent never uses sources the person asking couldn't access themselves.

What kind of work is it good at?

Unattended tasks that frontier coding models can typically complete within a few hours: features, refactors, bug fixes, test coverage, and migrations. You describe the task; Unblocked Code delivers a draft pull request.

We already use Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot. Do we have to switch?

No — the products are complementary, and many teams use both. If your developers drive their own agents interactively, connect them to the Unblocked MCP server so they get the same organizational context before writing code. Unblocked Code is for the other half of the work: tasks you want to hand off entirely and get back as a finished, verified pull request, without a developer's machine or attention in the loop.

Where does my code actually run?

In Unblocked-managed cloud infrastructure, on isolated machines provisioned per task and destroyed afterward. Network egress flows through allowlisted static IPs you can permit through your firewall. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest with customer-specific keys, and is never used for model training. See trust.getunblocked.com for our SOC 2 Type II report and security whitepaper.

Can it handle our build? We have private dependencies and a complicated setup.

Usually, yes — automatically. Unblocked Code determines how to build and test a repository from its setup instructions, build files, and CI configuration. For repositories that need more, admins can configure secrets (npm registries, Artifactory, internal services) and each repo can include a cloud-init script to provision anything else the environment needs — language runtimes, container tooling, or private network access.

Will it push code without my approval?

No. Unblocked Code confirms the task scope with you before starting, works on its own branch, and delivers the result as a draft pull request. Your existing review process — human reviewers, CI, branch protection — stays exactly as it is.

Can I check on a task or change direction mid-flight?

Yes. Tasks run in the background, and you can ask Unblocked for status, list your current tasks, or cancel one at any time, from any surface where you chat with Unblocked.

Which repositories are supported?

During the private beta, organization-owned repositories hosted on GitHub.com.

What does it cost, and how do we get access?

There is no additional charge during the private beta, which is open to existing Unblocked customers. Get in touch to request access — setup takes minutes once it is enabled.
